YP Refraction 1.0 Description

YP Refraction is a tool to learn all about the refraction of light (Snell's law) in geometrical optics. The program provides a laser source that can be moved around a prism. Six different prisms are available: a simple frontier between two media of different index of refraction, a semicircular prism, square prism, a rectangular prism, two triangular prisms (60-60-60 and 90-45-45). The user can change the indices of refraction. The normal at each point of incidence, the angle of incidence, the angle of refraction, the indices of refraction and the direction of propagation are displayed. The obtained diagram may be printed, copied to the clipboard, or saved as a PICT file.
