Molecular Workbench 2.1 is an application bringing interactive, visual simulations for teaching and learning science and engineering. As a free, open-source and extensible modeling platform, it provides not only a powerful environment for creating interactive molecular models and performing dynamical simulations, but also an easy-to-use authoring tool for building user interfaces and writing guided activities. In addition, it is equipped with an embedded assessment system for measuring student' learning with models and simulations. All these functionalities are seamlessly integrated under a simple user interface, which makes the sum of many difficult tasks orders of magnitude easier than they used to be for educators.Enhancements: Molecular Rover: Steering a microscopic spaceship to explore molecular structure.Custom tasks can be added to be computed during a simulation and arbitray results can be exported to graphs through eight built-in channels of data stream.Many new commands were added to enhance the MW scripts.Many new models, especially those based on a discrete-element approach, were added.Many other improvements and bug fixes.Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4 or later, Java 1.5 or later.
